A 50% deposit will be required before your booking is confirmed.

The initial consultation for new patients costs R2000. This is the time to talk through what you’d like to achieve, understand the benefits, risks and limitations of the available options so you can make the right decision for you. We’ll take a medical history and ask about your lifestyle and answer any questions you might have.

Treatment will not necessarily be on the same day.

If you decide to book treatments, the cost of your consultation will be deducted from the price of the treatment.

If you’re attending a special event, you should make your appointment at least 2 weeks before to allow any bruising or swelling to settle down and you look and feel your best post treatment. If you suffer with cold sores or sensitive skin, you’ll need to avoid treatments for at least 24 hours until after any flare ups have occuredsuch as rashes or cold sores.

A full set of pre-appointment instructions will be emailed to you as soon as your appointment is confirmed.

Consuming alcohol in the 24 hours before your treatment increases the chance of bruising so we advise you to avoid it.

Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for 3 days before treatment: aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, turmeric, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, and Aleve all have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising after injections.  Should you have had any of these, please note they should not affect your end result.  They simply increase your risk of bruising and recovery from the bruise.

We’ll check that there has been no changes to your health, that you understand the treatment and answer any questions you may have.

We’ll confirm  your written consent and take photographs before and after your treatment as part of your medical record (these are not shared, published or used for promotional activities and are solely kept as a treatment record).

Your treatment will then be administered. If you’re having filler treatments, we will ask that you remain for observation for 30 minutes after the treatment to ensure that there are no limitations to blood flow (a rare but serious complication)

When you’re ready, a comprehensive list of post procedure instructions will be provided. Please follow these closely to ensure your best result.

A follow up appointment will be scheduled if required. Feel free to contact us at any stage should you have any questions related to your treatment

Botulinum toxin is a purified protein injected into the skin to relax the muscles in your face. It smooths lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. The effects wear off after a period of time and it is a non-permanent cosmetic treatment, requiring retreatment to maintain the results. It can also be used to treat other problems such as teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and migraine.

Very fine needles are used to make injections as comfortable as possible and numbing cream is used for certain treatments. Most clients find any discomfort mild and short lasting. Arnica and cold packs can help to reduce swelling and discomfort after treatments.

If you are very sensitive to needles or just extremely nervous, there is the option to use local anesthetic creams or even injections. Please discuss this with your aesthetic provider at the time of your appointment or initial consultation.

All treatment plans are individualised with the aim of achieving a natural look. ReDermal treatments aim to roll back the years to make clients look more youthful, rather than unnatural. How much you need, where you need it and if it’s the right treatment for you are questions which we will answer as part of your consultation process to ensure you get the right treatment to achieve the look you want.

Botox is not advised if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have certain medical conditions affecting the nerves or muscles (such as Myasthenia Gravis and Eaton-Lambert Syndrome), allergies to egg or in those with a previous reaction to botulinum toxin, taking certain antibiotics or have a skin infection in the area to be treated. We take caution in clients taking blood-thinning medication (such as Warfarin, Rivaroxaban and Clopidogrel) because it may cause significant bruising.

Most people start to see the results of botox within the first week and a full effect around 2 weeks after treatment. The effect lasts around 3 months and every person is different – it can range from 2-5 months.  Fillers will have the majority of the clinical effect immediately after your injections with the final result visible at approximately 1 week after treatment.

After any injectable treatment, you should avoid strenuous activity and alcohol for 24 hours. You may experience mild swelling, bruising or tenderness for a few days after but this varies from person to person – it shouldn’t stop you doing anything.

At Redermal, we believe in a client experience which involves not only achieving excellent results but also respecting privacy. Our aim is to provide subtle but noticeable change. It’s hardly subtle when we splash images all over the web for anyone to see.

For this reason we will never publish client photographs. On occasion, we will have model days in which people are invited for treatments with the express intention of photography and marketing. This is a potential way to get the expertise of a ReDermal treatment at a lower cost in exchange for allowing your photograph on the website or on social media.

Botox will last on average 2-4 months with fillers and skin boosters lasting anything from 12-36  months.

Of course, not everybody is the same and within these boundaries, there is a lot of variation between people.

Botox especially can be a variable treatment and depends on a number of factors such as:

  1. The amount of botox injected
  2. The placement of the injections
  3. The frequency of injections (regular patients will find that their botox lasts longer and they need less for the same effect)
  4. The amount of muscle – men tend to need more botox for the same effect and will wear off quicker. The same is true for athletes as a result of greater muscle activity and bulk

In essence, the best way to get good, consistent results is to have regular treatments with the same practitioner to continue to fine tune treatments. Beauty is about habit and is a lifelong process.

This depends entirely on what you want to achieve and how rapidly you want to achieve those results. Most filler treatments require 1-2ml of filler at a time. If you wanted to do an entire facial transformation in one sitting, you may find yourself needing up to 10ml of filler in one sitting. A slight touch up may only require 1ml.

This is always an opportunity to discuss your priorities, time frame and budget with your practitioner who will be able to advise you on where best to place filler and which areas to treat first in order to maximise the aesthetic effect.

Every person needs a different amount of toxin depending on what area is being treated, whether you are a new or regular patient and what degree of effect you’re looking for. On average, a new patient wanting three areas of upper face treatment will need 50units for a female and 75-100 units for a man.

Here at ReDermal, we charge per unit and will only charge for the toxin that is actually injected as opposed to minimum pricing.

Botulinum toxin and dermal filler are extremely safe procedures with a very low complication rate. The complications which do occur tend to be mild and are easily treated. As with any medical procedure though, complications are possible. These can range from slight facial asymmetry to allergic reactions.

Rest assured, your ReDermal practitioner is a highly trained injector and will take great care to ensure your treatment progresses without a hitch. However, should there be any complications however minor, we will absolutely manage those with you so that you have the best experience possible.
